Industry Commons Foundation
2019–present ongoing Senior Researcher; Steering Board member with Michela Magas
A Swedish non-profit research foundation working on data governance, interoperability, and equitable access to emerging technologies.
The Industry Commons Foundation is a Swedish non-profit research foundation (insamlingsstiftelse), registered in Stockholm in 2019, built around a simple conviction: that the systems industry runs on, its data, its ontologies, its means of innovation, work better as a commons. Its tagline is “enabling systems for industry”, and its research concentrates on knowledge management and value networks across industrial domains: data governance, interoperability, and equitable access to emerging technologies.
ICF works by doing: collaborative, practice-based research inside European and Swedish innovation programmes. Its public project roster spans Horizon Europe research infrastructure work (GRAPHIA, LUMEN), manufacturing data ecosystems (RE4DY, OntoCommons, euroFMX), Swedish Vinnova-funded work on trusted health AI (TRE4HealthAI) and ethical data annotation (JUST Data), and the establishment of TEF North, a test and experimentation facility for industrial AI in northern Sweden. It is a founding member of the Knowledge Graph Alliance and a core partner in EIT Culture & Creativity.
The foundation was established by Michela Magas, its Chair and Director of Research & Innovation, and draws on a network of around twenty named experts. Dubber serves as Senior Researcher and Steering Board member, carrying the innovation, exploitation and communication work across its research portfolio.
