EOSC Innovation Centre
2025–2027 ongoing Development lead for ICF with Industry Commons Foundation, LUMEN
A lasting mechanism for carrying European Open Science Cloud research into applied innovation, in development within LUMEN.
The EOSC Innovation Centre addresses a structural gap in the European Open Science Cloud: research outcomes accumulate, but there is no standing mechanism for carrying them into applied innovation. The Centre, launching towards the end of the LUMEN project in 2027, is designed to be that mechanism: built on the Innovation Prototyping Labs methodology, distributed across the EOSC ecosystem rather than housed in any one building, and intended to be inherited by the EOSC community as lasting infrastructure. It will also serve as the home of the EOSC dataspace for the social sciences and humanities.
The Industry Commons Foundation leads the Centre’s development within LUMEN, with Dubber running the work; the concept was originated by Michela Magas. In July 2026 the Centre was presented in Brussels to the community of EOSC-funded projects, and its methods are being tested through the Innovation Prototyping Labs along the way.
