Innovation Prototyping Labs

2025–present ongoing Co-organiser with Industry Commons Foundation

Week-long collaborative labs that carry research infrastructure work into prototypes, run by ICF within European research projects.

The Innovation Prototyping Labs are the Industry Commons Foundation’s knowledge-transfer method in its most concentrated form: a week in one place, opening with a conference day, moving through a global brainstorm, and spending the rest of the week in collaborative prototyping, with evening performances holding the room together. The format descends directly from a decade of MTF Labs, adapted for the world of European research infrastructures.

The first IPL ran in Zagreb in October 2025, hosted at Infobip’s Pangea campus, jointly for the GRAPHIA and LUMEN projects. The second runs in Brussels in September 2026, hosted at the offices of CNRS. Within LUMEN, the IPL methodology is also the foundation on which the EOSC Innovation Centre is being built, as a lasting mechanism for turning research outcomes into applied innovation.
