The 360 Deal

One hundred music industry figures, exactly 360 words of advice each, sold for $3.60, all proceeds to a Delhi children's music charity.
The 360 Deal is a book built on a constraint and a pun. Around one hundred music industry figures, among them Derek Sivers, Nancy Baym, Ariel Hyatt, Benji Rogers, Martin Atkins and Fiona Talkington, were each asked for advice for musicians in exactly 360 words: no more, no fewer. The title mocks the industry’s then-fashionable all-rights “360 deals” by offering a fairer one: the book sold for $3.60, and every cent went to Music Basti, the Delhi charity that teaches music with children in care, the same organisation behind Monkey on the Roof. Dubber edited the collection and published it in March 2013.
