A documentary project about Brazil's Fora do Eixo collectives, who built their own music economy, currency and university.
Occupy Music is a documentary project about Fora do Eixo, the Brazilian network of independent music collectives that responded to being ignored by their country’s music industry by building a parallel one: their own circuit of festivals, their own economy with its own currency, and their own university to pass the methods on.
Dubber directed the project with Blue Hippo Media and Birmingham City University, filming with the collectives in Brazil. The film remains unfinished, still seeking completion funding, and sits in this archive as what it honestly is: a story worth telling that has not yet found the means of its telling.
